Below you will find a copy of the Waypointe complaint against Readington Township that was filed in court.
In most cases, municipalities lose in the courts when they deny a halfway house the ability to exist in a residential area. By law, the courts treat people with addiction as a protected class just as if they were a minority. You cannot simply deny them housing and to do so is a violation of their civil rights.
If Waypointe does continue with the lawsuit I suspect they will win and probably win big. The lawyer who recommended we fight this should probably be fired. We shall see if Readington has an ace up its sleeve but I suspect we are just throwing good money down the drain.
